On November 27th, 2011 I was baptized in the name of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
I grew up loving Jesus but never truly knew Him or followed Him. Like many parents my Dad read the Bible to me and taught me who God was and the importance of Jesus but it never stuck in my heart. It took quite a road of hardship to really understand that I made it to where I am now because of Him.
As I was submerged in the water and was brought up again during baptism I felt as if an intense weight lifted off my shoulders. It’s a strange feeling, a liberating feeling. It’s all because of the greatness that is Christ Jesus.
While I trip and stumble down this walk with Christ I know that the Lord’s grace is sufficient for me. The desires of this world and the choices of my past creep in on me and try to quench the fire in my heart, but I know that it burns too brightly. The passion within me and the fire that burns for my Lord is stoked by his abounding love and acceptance of me.
